The objective of the Careers and Higher Education (HE) Fair Day is to provide you, our students, with valuable opportunities to explore a wide range of career pathways and post-secondary education options. By bringing together representatives from universities, colleges, training providers, and employers, the event aims to inform and inspire you about future possibilities, support you in making informed decisions about your next steps, and help you develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve your aspirations. During your time at the fair, we encourage you to engage in meaningful conversations, ask questions, and gather resources that will assist you in planning your academic and professional journeys.

All vocational students are expected to visit the HE Fair in the New College Theatre and speak to at least five different institutions, discussing questions such as what the courses you’re interested in cover, the benefits of studying at that organisation, and their links to practical industry experiences. In the Careers Fair, held in the Dance Studio, you are expected to speak with employers to seek advice and guidance on making your job applications stand out, discover opportunities for work experience, shadowing, or mentorship, and find out if the organisations can offer you links to employment after you complete your course.

In addition to the two fairs, we have a range of guest speakers and workshops available for you to book. If you are on an A Level programme, you are expected to book onto at least one talk and one workshop. If you are on a vocational course, you are expected to attend two talks and two workshops. Make the most out of this day, young creatives—remember:
“Success doesn’t come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently.”
